SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA, SEPTEMBER 17, 2013– Tickets are on sale now for Festival Mozaic’s WinterMezzo Series. This popular summer music festival’s chamber music series will take place November 1-3, 2013, and February 28-March 2, 2014 at various locations around scenic San Luis Obispo County, California.

The WinterMezzo Series brings together exceptional artists from across the country under the direction of the Festival’s music director, Scott Yoo. Featured guest artists include pianist John Novacek, cellist Bion Tsang, violinist Serena McKinney, violist Hari Bernstein, and cellist Michelle Djokic. These musicians have performed on the stages of great concert halls throughout the world and have international chamber music careers.

“Trios” (November 1, 2 &3): This program celebrates the Piano Trio by presenting three different trios, performed by Mr. Yoo, Mr. Tsang and Mr. Novacek.

Beethoven – Piano Trio in D major, op. 70/1 Ghost

Dvořák– Piano Trio in E minor Dumky

Bach, Mozart and Brahms (February 28 - March 2, 2014) : From the last of Bach’s six suites for unaccompanied cello to the final string quartets of Mozart and Brahms, these works are the culmination of these composers’ mastery of the genres. Featuring Mr. Yoo, Ms. McKinney, Ms. Bernstein and Ms. Djokic

Bach – Cello Suite No. 6 in D, BWV 1012

Mozart – String Quartet in F major, K. 590

Brahms – String Quartet No. 3 in B-flat major, op. 67

Each concert cycle has three ways to experience the music -- a Notable Encounter Insight, a Friday evening one-hour presentation where the performers informally discuss the featured works; a Saturday evening Notable Encounter Salon or Dinner, where guest artists present lively commentary, musical excerpts and insider observations in beautiful private homes accompanied by food and award-winning Central Coast wine; and then the full concert program on Sunday afternoon.
