March 26, 2014 (San Luis Obispo, CA) – A new independent feature film penned by a San Luis Obispo County writer makes its Central Coast debut at the Fremont Theatre in downtown San Luis Obispo on Friday, April 18. "Authors Anonymous," an ensemble comedy written by local radio talk show host David Congalton, chronicles a dysfunctional group of unpublished writers who must face the overnight success of one of the group’s members, who in quick succession scores an agent, a book deal and finally a movie deal. The film stars Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory as the successful writer. Her fellow would-be authors, who must face their own insecurities as a result of her success, include Chris Klein from the American Pie movies, Teri Polo from Meet the Parents, Dylan Walsh from TV’s Nip/Tuck, and Jonathan Bennett from Mean Girls. Rounding out the fictional writers group is actor Dennis Farina in one of his last film roles before his death in July 2013. Jonathan Banks from Breaking Bad and Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica also appear in the film. Doors at the Fremont open at 6 pm on Friday, April 18, with the film starting at 7 pm. A Q&A with screenwriter David Congalton, producer Hal Schwartz and director/producer Ellie Kanner follows the 93-minute film. "Authors Anonymous" continues at the Downtown Centre Cinemas beginning April 19 for at least a week’s run. In addition to San Luis Obispo, "Authors Anonymous" opens April 18 in 11 cities across North America: Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Phoenix, Seattle, Minneapolis, Tampa, Miami and Washington, DC.
