Visit San Luis Obispo County New 2014 Guide Released

Visitor’s Guide to Assist Tourists in Planning a Culinary, Cultural & Coastal Experience

(San Luis Obispo County, CA) – Visit San Luis Obispo County announces the release of the 2014 Insider Adventure Guide, Your Guide to Pure Play in California. The Guide is available to view, download and request copies at To request a hard copy please email or call 805.541.8000.

The Guide is the gateway for tourists seeking more information about San Luis Obispo County’s unique assets and activities to plan their getaway. Published annually, the colorful magazine-style travel planner comes in the form of a lifestyle format, which includes in-depth features on a number of county attractions. A section titled “Stay and Play,” offers visitors a helpful overview of San Luis Obispo County communities with various tips and highlighted activities. The article targets the reasons why people come to San Luis Obispo County to play —from outdoor attractions such as beaches, biking and wildlife, to regional and cultural events.

A special section titled “Faces of San Luis Obispo County,” highlightsauthentic resident profiles including: Alexis Negranti, owner at Negranti Dairy and Artisan Creamery; Linda Somers-Smith, Olympic marathon runner; Gregg and Kelly Wangard, local chefs for Marisol at the Cliffs Resort and Summerwood Inn respectively; Fintan du Fresne, winemaker at Chamisal Vineyards; and a highlight of the new Vina Robles Amphitheatre. The people and places of San Luis Obispo County bring the County to life for the traveler. “The personal profiles give us the opportunity to showcase unique people of the area, their story and why they choose to live in San Luis Obispo County,” said Stacie Jacob, CEO of Visit San Luis Obispo County. “It’s a nice opportunity for the traveler to experience the county as a local.” Inaddition, The Guide includes a section on wine country, attractions, events, restaurants, golf courses and guides for lodging.

Fifty thousand guides were printed and will be sent to potential visitors, leisure and business travelers, meeting planners, travel agents, tour operators and media throughout the country.Also, the Guide will be available to all Visit San Luis Obispo County partners through local chambers and at various trade shows throughout the year. The Guide will be available in California Welcome Centers in San Francisco, Oxnard and Pismo Beach and at airport locations in Santa Barbara, Burbank and San Jose.
