For Immediate Release:
Montana de Oro State Park to keep Bluff Trail open for the Holidays
On Monday, November 18, 2013, California State Parks accessibility work on the Bluff Trail on Montana de Oro State Park. To date, the north loop of the Bluff Trail has been re-contoured and an improved surface installed. Preliminary clearing and brushing of the south loop has also been completed. All construction work will temporarily halt on Saturday, December 21, 2013 and the Bluff Trail will be fully open to the public through Sunday, January 5, 2014. On Monday, January 6, 2014 the south loop of the Bluff Trail and restrooms will be closed to all visitors in order to allow construction equipment to work in those areas. Thank you for your cooperation in avoiding the areas affected by the partial closures of the Bluff Trail over the past month. Future scheduled partial closures will be posted on bulletin boards at the Spooner Ranch house and at the Bluff Trail heads. The project is ahead of schedule and we look forward to project completion, re-vegetation of the distributed areas, and reopening the entire trail in the Fall of 2014. Happy Holidays.
