2015 Visit San Luis Obispo County Tourism Ambassador Award Recipient Announced: Congratulations to Suzen Brasile, Executive Director, Pismo Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau

Visit San Luis Obispo County named the recipient of their 2015 Tourism Ambassador Award on Friday, May 8, 2015 at their annual Tourism Vision Workshop in Atascadero. The honor of this year’s award went to Suzen Brasile, Executive Director of the Pismo Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau. Ms. Brasile is the smiling face in charge of tourism development and promotions for the city she loves. Her passion for the travel and tourism industry began as a young child, while vacationing with her parents and brothers traveling throughout the states, including Hawaii. Her parents later bought a local motel and her love for tourism grew. She enjoys mentoring and educating others on the economic benefits of increasing tourism to California and our local communities.

Ms. Brasile is currently serving on the Visit SLO County Resource Board and has served on the Visit San Luis Obispo County Board for the last three terms, the Cal Travel Board Member since 2012, and has served for the past eight years, as a Cal Travel Industry Association State Ambassador.
Also, Ms. Brasile has enjoyed a 27 year relationship with Visit California (formerly California Travel & Tour Association). As a founding board member, she served on the Central Coast Tourism Council Board of Directors, and the Rural Tourism Committee. In addition, she was chosen as the first event planner for the Central Coast Regions’ Cultural & Heritage Planning Forum, gathering over 120 attendees from throughout the county.

Ms. Brasile was instrumental obtaining the official Pismo Beach California Welcome Center (CWC), located in the Pismo Beach Prime Outlets, the first on the Central Coast and still #1 CWC in the State. She was also instrumental in the promotion of the Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove, which is Pismo’s largest off-season attraction.

Ms. Brasile utilizes her years of experience working with international and domestic tour operators, travel agents, travel writers and leisure travelers with a focus on making dream vacations a reality and a cherished memory for generations to come. She has hosted hundreds of travel writers and international familiarization trips (FAMS).

When Suzen is not actively working in her professional role, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew “Sonny” Brasile, swimming, concerts, sewing, and most of all, sharing quality time with family and friends.

Congratulations again to Suzen Brasile and THANK YOU for your contributions to tourism in San Luis Obispo County!
