1) It's the 25th Anniversary!
This year is a special one at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival. Along with a slew of fantastic films, the festival will also be highlighting 25 films from each of the last 25 years of the festival's existence.
2) New Venue Alert
This year, the festival announced a brand new venue! SLO Brew Rock in San Luis Obispo joins the list of fantastic venues throughout SLO CAL playing host to this year's festival. This is one unique venue you'll want to check out along with others in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.

3) Film Fest Newbies Unite
This year, the festival introduced a new ‘Movie Newbie’ pass for those who haven't been to the festival but definitely want to check it out. This pass is $40 and admits one person for four regular screenings, four people for one regular screening or any combination that adds up to four uses. This pass can ONLY be used at the Rock at SLO Brew and the Fremont Theatre for regular screenings (not for Opening Night, Surf Nite and Awards Night).
4) Extremely walkable
Don't worry about driving too much, most of the screenings happen right in downtown San Luis Obispo. The Downtown Center Cinema, Palm Theatre and historic Fremont Theatre are the hubs of the Film Fest allowing you to easily walk between screenings and explore downtown. Get in your must-see's while also getting those steps in.
5) There's quite literally something for everyone
From meet-and-greets with filmmakers to an epic surf nite and star-studded evenings, the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival captures the eyes and interests of many. Come watch local talent during the Central Coast Filmmaker showcase or get your documentary and short film fix. There are plenty of opportunities to get your film fix during this year's awesome lineup.
