9 Places to Celebrate the 4th of July in San Luis Obispo County

1) Pismo Beach
From 10am - 11pm relax in the sun on Pismo Beach. There will be live music, food vendors, and arts and crafts for everyone in the family to enjoy. Fireworks will be shot of the Pismo Pier starting at 9pm.
Head down early and partake in the Sand Sculpture Contest by the pier. Everyone from children, novices and professionals can build their masterpieces from 5am to 8am. Then stake out your spot for the annual parade at 10am. Enjoy your day at the beach until the fireworks begin at 9pm from the Cayucos Pier.
The festivities begin at 10:00 am on July 4 and run along Main Street and Crocker Street. After the parade, head back to the Templeton Community Park for the parade awards ceremony, complete with food, entertainment, music, fun and games. Enjoy live music by Matt Nino's Band and Triple Down Theory. Check out the many food and craft vendors that will be there until 3:00pm. Beer and Wine will be for sale.
4) Arroyo Grande
Join us in celebration of the 4th of July at the Rotary Bandstand. Enjoy the Village Band Concert at 1:00pm. Hot Dogs, lemonade and ice cream will be served by the South County Historical Society.
5) Morro Bay
Start your day off at 9am by registering for the Morro Bay Mile Skateboard Race. Then, bring your decked out red, white and blue bike to the Bike Parade at 12. From 12-5pm enjoy a family friendly, alcohol-free event at Tidelands Park. BYOP (Bring Your Own Picnic) and participate in events throughout the day. This year’s 4th of July celebration is a daytime only event with everything from live music by 3 bands, children's activities, old fashioned lawn games and more!
6) Paso Robles
Stop by Eos Winery for a fabulous 4th! Listen to local band, the Wine Country Troubadours, from 12-3 while snacking on Stein's famous kielbasa on a stick or Eos Zinfandel brownies, both for just $3. Purchase Eos Summer Sangria and wine by the glass and bottle. Spend the day playing a game of horseshoes or bocce ball in between all the dancing and fun.
7) Avila Beach
Come to Avila Beach for Independence Day and spend your morning enjoying a pancake breakfast and doggie parade! The event will be held at the Avila Beach Community Center. Breakfast starts at 8am and the parade begins at 11:30am.
Bring the family to Cambria's old fashioned July 4th celebration at Shamel Park. Fun, food, prizes, live music, dancing and more! Events start in the morning at 11 complete with a waiter/waitress balancing tray relay race, Linn's messy pie eating contest, raffles, bounce houses, and face painting.
9) San Luis Obispo
What's more american than fireworks on the 4th of July? Baseball on the 4th of July! The SLO Blues will be playing from 1-4pm at Sinsheimer Park on Independence Day against the Menlo Park Legends. Or attend on July 3rd for baseball AND fireworks!
