Classic California - Day 4

Following breakfast at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Paso Robles, the Classic California group hit the Pacific Coast Highway once again - but this was no ordinary stretch of road. Often cited as the most picturesque part of Highway 1 and a must-do drive, the journey from Paso Robles to Monterey offered breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and rugged coastal headlands of Big Sur.

Arriving in Monterey, we enjoyed the fresh Mediterranean flavours of Fandango's restaurant before heading on to the famed Monterey Bay Aquarium. Considered one of the best in the country and one of the leading ocean-conservation organisations in the world, the Monterey Bay Aquarium showcases the rich marine life found in the neighbouring Pacific. Agents loved seeing how the aquarium works with a behind-the-scenes tour, something available to children as young as six years old. You can even check out their cute sea otters thanks to the aquarium's live web cam (!

Next the group embarked on another scenic drive, the 17 Mile Drive, which passes famous golf courses, such as Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill, plus beaches and rocky headlands. We wandered the beautiful streets of Carmel-by-the-sea, a town full of fabulous boutiques. There were plenty of top photo opportunities along the way as agents explored this pocket of the central coast - agents can upload their snaps from any U.S. fam to for a chance to see their photos featured in the Brand USA Calendar 2014 and to win a slot on next year's Megafam!

Before dinner, we made a quick stop at Trio Carmel, a unique centre that offers tastings of local Monterey County wines and flavoured vinegars and olive oils, all whilst admiring their collection of contemporary art. Dinner at Rio Grill showcased the best of Monterey's fresh seafood, meat and creative Californian cuisine before the group checked in at the luxurious Quail Lodge & Golf Club for the night.
