Cities in SLO County Where 'Safe and Sane' Fireworks Are Permitted

The Tribune

Wondering where you can partake in some good ole' fashioned 4th of July fun by shooting off some of your own fireworks? The 'Safe and Sane' brand of fireworks, those that do not generally fly or explode, are the only type of firework permitted in certain SLO County cities. While fireworks are a 4th of July tradition, it is always good to remember where you should safely shoot them off so as to not start fires, injure yourself and others, or damage property.

The following SLO County cities allow you to legally shoot off fireworks:

  • Unincorporated San Miguel
  • Unincorporated Templeton
  • Unincorporated Oceano

(Note: Only within the above's respective community service districts)

  • Arroyo Grande
  • Grover Beach
  • Morro Bay (Note: only allowed on private property)

Don't forget, you can always enjoy the public fireworks displays at both the Pismo Pier and Cayucos Pier!

Have a Happy and Safe 4th!
