The California Mid-State Fair has announced the signing of Counting Crows, who will bring their stunning live show to the 2011 California Mid-State Fair. The show will take place on Sunday, July 24th at 7:30p in the Main Grandstand Arena.
Tickets for the show will be $25, $35, $45, and $70 and will go on sale Thursday, June 16th at 10:00a. Tickets can be purchased online at www.midstatefair.com, by calling 1-800-909-FAIR or in person at the CMSF box office or any ValliTix outlet.
The live tour comes after years of success. The band's success started with their 1993 debut album August and Everything After, which includes their hit song "Mr. Jones." With five studio albums released to date the band has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
Counting Crows has eight top 5 singles. Hits include "Big Yellow Taxi," "Hanginaround," "Mr. Jones," and "Accidently in Love," which was featured on the Shrek 2 soundtrack. Four of the band's records have broken the Top 5 on the Billboard 200.
The band originated in the San Francisco Bay Area and has since been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, a Grammy Award, and an Academy Award. Band members include Adam Duritz (vocals), David Bryson (guitar), Charles Gillingham (keyboards), Dan Vickrey (guitar), Jim Bogios (drums), David Immergluck (guitar) and touring bassist Millard Powers.
The band's most recent record, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings, was released in 2008 and features the lead single, "You Can't Count on Me."
The 2011 California Mid-State Fair runs July 20, 2011, through July 31, 2011. This year's theme is "Mountains of Fun."
