Cuesta Encantada Cake

Cuesta Encantada Cake

Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
3 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon soda

Directions
Cream butter and sugar together until light. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beat well after each addition. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, and soda together several times. Add dry ingredients alternately with cream. Fold in egg whites that have been beaten stiff. Pour batter into a 9-inch tube pan that has been greased. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes, or until done.

Sprinkle the following mixture while cake is still hot:
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup orange juice
¼ cup rum
1 tablespoon Curacao

Let cook and serve with whipped cream to which 1 tablespoon of grated orange rind has been added.
