While your calendar is probably packed with parties, gift exchanges and visits with family this holiday season, it’s important to make time for that special someone too. Fortunately, there are no shortage of fun ways to do a SLO CAL date night in December. We’ve got parades, light shows and holiday-themed fun along the SLO CAL Coast as well as other ways to spend the holidays in SLO CAL; but if you’re looking to elevate your holiday date night, we might suggest adding a little drama…

The Great American Melodrama in Oceano kicked off its Great American Melodrama in Oceano, SLO CAL2020 Holiday Extravaganza last week, and it is every bit as festive and full of laughs as locals have come to expect from the Melodrama cast. Part theater, part Vaudeville review, the Great American Melodrama Holiday Extravaganza incorporates humor that both SLO CAL natives and visitors will appreciate into classic holiday plays and songs. Any seat in the Melodrama’s new venue is a good one, but table seating offers space to grab some nachos and beer or uncork a bottle of your favorite wine. The corkage fee is only $10!

Table set with 2 pizzas at Ember Pizza in SLO CALIf snack bar bites aren’t what you had in mind for your SLO CAL December date night, we’d suggest an early dinner at one of the many farm-to-table restaurants in south San Luis Obispo County. Spoon Trade or Mason Bar & Kitchen and Ember Restaurant are all great dinner options. The chicken and (homemade sourdough) waffles at Spoon Trade can’t be beat. Mason Bar & Kitchen’s brussel sprouts and craft cocktails are a great way to kick off date night; and while it’s hard to pick a favorite from the menu at Ember (did someone say woodfired pizza?), the cauliflower, pancetta and wild mushroom flan is unlike anything we’ve ever tasted!
