I Love where I Live: Enjoy an Evening of Shakespeare Under the Stars!
  central coast shakespeare festival

You've got to love an organization whose mission statement includes:

"We believe watching Shakespeare outdoors, with a delicious picnic dinner and a fine, fine bottle of syrah is just about as good as it gets."

The organization works year long to assemble both professional and local talent for their Annual Shakespeare Festival. If you're a lover of Shakespeare, the festival is a great opportunity to get your fix, in an outdoor venue under the starry sky. If you've yet to discover Shakespeare, or hope to introduce younger members of your family to one of the all time Greats of English Literature, then this is your ticket, too!

With that said, get your datebook out and calendar your time for attending one (or both) of this season's productions: (1) The Comedy of Errors - running from July 14th - August 13th; and (2) As you Like It - opening July 21 with performances through August 14th. Both are comedies, and are sure to offer an evening of laughs, fun, good food and fine wines.

The festival is held at the River Oaks Events outdoor ampitheatre in Paso Robles. You'll need to bring a blanket or low-backed chair for seating, and fill a picnic basket with your favorite goodies. No alcoholic beverages may be carried in, but no worries there, as the festival offers wine and beer for sale on site. And, from the look of the sponsor list ...Clayhouse Wines, L'aventure, and Tablas Creek ... you're in for some pretty fine wines!

The festival runs from July 14th through August 14, with shows taking place Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 7:30 p.m and Sundays at 6:00 p.m. You can purchase your tickets at the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce, at the door the night of the event (cash only) or through the organization's online ticketing service at http://centralcoastshakespeare.tix.com/Schedule.asp?OrganizationNumber=2021
