Central Coast As a self professed outdoors junkie, I have hiked, ridden and paddled on five continents. I've hiked the entire John Muir Trail, bike toured in Patagonia and sea kayaked in New Zealand and Baja. I moved to the Central Coast in 1997 and immediately fell in love with the area. Although working for a large bicycle touring company at the time, I eventually started Central Coast Outdoors in 2003 to focus on bringing people to the amazing outdoors world of San Luis Obispo county. My wife Virginia and I along with my wonderful staff at Central Coast Outdoors take people on guided kayak, bike and hike tours locally. I also serve on the board of the Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival and am active with the San Luis Obispo Bicycle Coalition, SLO Car Free, and the Cal Poly Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration department. When not engaged in running Central Coast Outdoors or working with the aforementioned groups, i can usually be found out kayaking on Morro Bay, riding my bike, or enjoying a hike in Montana de Oro.
