Join SLO County for Earth Day Food and Wine Festival!

April is Down to Earth Month in California, celebrating sustainable wines and farm-to-fork foods all over the state. California has one of the largest sustainable winegrowing programs in the world and San Luis Obispo County is celebrating sustainability during its Earth Day Celebration this weekend, April 11-13, 2014. The Earth Day Food and Wine Weekend kicks off on Friday, where you can experience an exclusive Farm-to-Fork event at one of the region’s historic vineyard properties. Saturday’s Main Event in Paso Robles, California will celebrate the roots of SLO County’s local food and wine scene. Sunday will allow you to “Wine Down” with a few more intimate events throughout the region. It’s a weekend of authentic experiences, sustainability, good food and wine, and of course fun!

The main event is proud to be a “zero-waste” event, generating less than 2lbs of trash for over 1400 visitors. The event has also teamed with Pacific Energy Company, to create a solar powered stage. From the food you eat to the plates you eat it on, everything is recycled for minimum environmental impact.

If you aren’t able to attend the main event, there are various events throughout the county you can check out. Be sure to visit for more information on these events and how you can take part in Earth Day Food and Wine Festival!
