Luna Red Restaurant to Move to a New Downtown Location
Popular downtown eatery will move to location near the San Luis Obispo Mission
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA--Luna Red Restaurant, located on Monterey Street, in downtown San Luis Obispo, has announced it will be moving a few blocks down the street to 1023 Chorro Street, near the entrance to the iconic San Luis Obispo Mission.
Luna Red opened the doors at its current location in the fall of 2010. The restaurant's concept of local, traditional ingredients, tapas dishes, farm-to-glass cocktails, and its extensive wine selection have been well-received by the community.
"We were approached by the owner of the restaurant space near the Mission, and we felt it was a location opportunity too good to pass up," remarks Luna Red's owner, Robin Covey. "We've had such a wonderful reception from our patrons at Luna's sister restaurant, Novo, which sits right on the creek, so to have an opportunity to move Luna Red to a creekside setting, with a view of the mission - it felt like a really great way for us to expand Luna Red and make it more accessible for people," says Covey.
Luna Red plans to open its new location in mid-April. The menu, warm ambiance, and concept of a warm-dinner party setting will be carried over to the new space.
