The 2012 Paso Robles Festival of the Arts
We'll see you there!
Now in its fourth year, the Paso Robles Festival of the Arts is coming into its own with nationally acclaimed artists and extensive activities.
It's official. The Paso Robles Festival of the Arts is a force to be reckoned with on the American art scene. Professional painters and artists, as well as industry leaders across California and the Nation will be travelling to downtown Paso Robles this week to partake in this fantastic event. If you've attended the Festival since the beginning you'll recognize the vast growth of "little art event that could." First-time attendees will experience a full-fledged, magical art event unlike any other in California, or anywhere else.
This year's themed exhibition is "Local Color," a play on the natural beauty and colorful characters of Paso Robles. Artists from all over California will be submitting work for the Local Color show, whose focus is "Celebrating Authentic Beauty." The public is encouraged to get involved in the award-selection process, as there will be a Viewer's Choice Award.
Children's events throughout the weekend are also spectacular, with hands on art classes, shows, and activities.
The Main Event is FREE of charge and takes place on Saturday, May 26th from 10 AM to 5 PM in the Paso Robles City Park and celebrates the arts and the environment. The event features a plein air quick-draw and auction, a fine art show & sale, hands-on youth art classrooms, environmental displays & native plant talks, live music and performances, stilt walkers, and more. A portion of proceeds from art and merchandise sales goes to fund the Festival of the Arts, the Salinas River Corridor Project and Studios on the Park community art programming.
