Then, grab some lunch at one of the local favorites like Woodstock Pizza, Firestone Grill or High Street Deli. Head back to your hotel and get ready for a night at the world's biggest college rodeo! The Poly Royal Rodeo is in its 79th year and will surely provide entertainment for the entire family. After watching the evenings events, be sure to stick around for a concert by Chancey Williams and the Younger Brother Band.
Rise and shine! It's time to explore Highway 1. Head over to Morro Bay for breakfast at Frankie and Lola's before hitting the Embarcadero. Check out boutiques. Watch sea otters and harbor seals play in the bay. Rent a kayak or standup paddleboard and enjoy a morning on the water soaking up the fresh ocean air. Lunch and wine tasting are right around the corner. Travel East on Highway 46 towards Paso Robles wine country, but first be sure to stop off at one of the beautiful scenic vistas for a quick photo-op. Grab lunch at a winery such as Niner Wine Estates, Grey Wolf or Tooth and Nail (and don't forget to taste through a few of their wines). Or head into town and grab lunch at Firestone Walker Brewery, Jeffry's Wine Country BBQ or Streetside Ale House.
Make your way south on Highway 101 back towards San Luis Obispo and grab your boots because it's time to head back to the rodeo! Watch the best student athletes duke it out at Alex G. Spanos Stadium then enjoy a concert from country music star Casey Donahew.
No need to head home too quickly, there's more SLO CAL to explore! Grab breakfast in San Luis Obispo whether that be donuts from SLODOCO, a breakfast burrito from Frank's Famous or pancakes at the Madonna Inn. Hit the beach in Avila Beach or Pismo Beach. Ride the dunes in Oceano or check out lake life at Lopez Lake in Arroyo Grande.
