As usual in the summer, there are so many events to chose from. Last year, I was able to attend the 2nd SLO Wine and Grill Affair, held on the grounds of the Per Bacco Winery. (This is just outside the city limits of San Luis Obispo.)
This is a very reasonably priced charity food and wine event - just $40 per person at the door. Seveal top local restaurants offer great dishes, and several top wineries pour their wines. You will NOT go away hungry or complaining about stingy pours.
The setting is very casual. The winerys' tasting room is very small, so the vast majority of the "action" - food and wine vendors, seating areas, music - takes place outside. The weather was perfect last year (But then it usually is in the summer). There is a great shady area where you can sit , eat and listen to the music. Note; Top local artist -Roseanne Seitz - will be showing her works.
The money goes for a great cause, so you can - as so often in the county - enjoy a great experience, knowing you are helping a deserving charity. I was able to create a brief video of the event - including a short interview woth the Executive Director- available on our YouTube Channel. Mix this with the Charity "Pinot and Paella" Event on Sunday in Templeton, and you will have experienced two wonderful Food and Wine Festivals.
