The Hulk, aka Lou Ferrigno, Sworn in as Reserve Deputy for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office
I think it's safe to say we can all sleep even more soundly here in SLO County with our newest member of the Sheriff's Office, the Hulk. On Friday morning Lou Ferrigno was sworn in by Sheriff Ian Parkinson as a Reserve Deputy for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office. As the star of "The Incredible Hulk" and more recently on CBS's "King of Queens," the comedy, "I love you, Man," and "The Celebrity Apprentice," Ferrigno has found his true calling.
From a young age Ferringo was drawn to law enforcement from admiring his father, a lieutenant for the New York Police Department. Ferrigno has always been a "huge supporter of law enforcement... and he really wants to give back" said Sheriff Parkinson. As a certified police officer with extensive training and experience in firearms, first aid, and high speed driving techniques, Ferringno does not take this job lightly. Parkinson told The Tribune, "When [Lou] talks about law enforcement, he gets so excited and animated." It's obvious how seriously Ferringo takes this role.
Ferringo's wife, Carla, proudly pinned the Reserve Deputy's badge onto her husband, who was sworn in to office by Sheriff Ian Parkinson. The two have lived in Arroyo Grande for more than 25 years and share their time between AG and Santa Monica. Ferringo plans to spend 20-40 hours a month working with both San Luis Obispo County and Los Angeles' departments.
So be on your best behaviour, consider it ill advised to upset the Hulk!
