Winter migrants are starting to arrive on Morro Bay! As the day light hours decrease and the first storms of the season come in, our winter migrants are also starting to arrive. In the last few weeks, I've seen several different species of grebes, common loons and others on the bay. No Brant geese yet, but they should be migrating here very soon. The late summer feeding frenzies of sea lions, harbor seals and multiple bird species have also continued well into the fall on the bay. It's truly an impressive site to watch hundreds of animals all diving and feasting on the schools of small fish that call Morro Bay home.
