The Festival Orchestra returns to the beautiful Harold J. Miossi CPAC for a performance showcasing elegant Spanish compositions. Opening the program is Brahms’s first serenade, a piece that is reminiscent of Gypsy music. Following is Rodrigo’s Fantasi´a, which was inspired by Gaspar Sanz’s 1674 manual on Spanish guitar playing. De Falla’s The Three Cornered Hat finishes the program, a ballet suite that tells a story of seduction and draws on traditional folk music of Andaluci´a.
