Halloween festivities return to the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Activities include a costume contest, scary-oke (karaoke contest), photo opportunities, and trick-or-treating at participating Downtown businesses. This event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public.
Trick-or-treating runs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Maps of participating businesses, as well as treat bags, will be available beginning at 5:00 PM at the Union Bank parking lot located at 995 Higuera Street. Additionally, maps will be published online for at-home printing and will be available at the Farmers’ Market information booth starting at 6:00 PM located at the intersection of Chorro and Higuera Streets.
The costume contest will start at 6:30 PM. Sign-ups for the contest will begin at 5:00 PM at the Union Bank parking lot located at 995 Higuera Street. A KJUG DJ will be hosting the contest. Prizes will be awarded from local businesses for winners in the 0-2, 3-4, 5-8 and 9-12 age groups, as well as additional prizes for pairs and groups including parents, older children, and pets.
Coast 104.5’s “Scary-oke!” will be held at the intersection of Chorro and Higuera Streets beginning at 6:00 PM. Up and Adam in the Morning’s Adam Montiel will be hosting the contest with $250 in cash up for grabs and everyone who sings is entered to win. Registration will start at 6:00 PM. A Halloween-themed photo opportunity will be available in the Union Bank parking lot from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Designed and built by Cal Poly’s RPTA 210 group, it is free for everyone to take photos.
