details
Morro Bay is one of the top-ten bird watching sites in the U.S. and offers various bird watching locations and exciting visitor field trips. The north-west end of Morro Bay State Park is good for scoping the deeper water for loons, grebes, brants and ducks. The cypress trees here are roosting areas for sometimes large numbers of black-crowned night-herons.
Don't miss the annual Bird Watching Festival in January where guests participate in lectures, explore vendor displays and fun tours.
