On June 10, 2015 the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Visit SLO CAL’s proposed Tourism Marketing District (TMD). The TMD is a five-year plan that establishes a unified district with the goal to increase awareness of SLO CAL and its offerings, as well as drive visitor demand. These goals help improve overall occupancy and average daily rates for San Luis Obispo County lodging partners.
The Tourism Marketing District places a 1.0% assessment on lodging nights throughout San Luis Obispo County. The assessment dollars are used to market San Luis Obispo County throughout regional, national and international feeder markets. Assessed lodging partners who receive Visit SLO CAL membership marketing benefits include hotels and motels, vacation rentals, bed & breakfasts and RV parks.
