One bedroom downstairs off the living area and two bedrooms upstairs. The large backyard with multiple patio seating areas makes this the perfect home for entertaining friends and enjoying a Mid-Coast evening in the comfort of your own private space. An easy stroll past picket fence yards to world class restaurants, shopping, wine-tasting rooms, antiques stores, and movie theatres. Return from your visits to the various wine trails, farmers' market, or Mid-State Fair and be greeted by the friendly, bright red front door. Property was good as advertised. Good location that we were able to walk to downtown during the day and night. Spent most of the time hopping different restaurants and wine bars downtown. House all the amenities if you wanted to hang around inside or outside. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only downside was the stairs seemed a little to steep for us 30-something guys. We had a wonderful time renting this house for our girls birthday trip over the weekend. When we arrived, the house looked exactly how it was shown in the photos on the listing, and everything was clean and ready to go for our stay.
We loved the house hub mounted on the wall with property info, as well as food recommendations and map directions, super helpful!

The house is in a nice location and well kept. However, the house next door was under construction from 7AM to 3PM and this was not disclosed ahead of time. This home was a wonderful place to stay while my girlfriends and I all celebrated our 40th birthdays. The home is in walking distance to downtown-restaurants, coffee shops, liquor stores, etc. The family room was a perfect gathering area to just sit and talk. It was a little too hot this weekend to utilize the backyard for long, but in cooler weather that would have been the best hang out spot. The house was clean and well taken care of. Warm and welcoming guest house
The guest house was so charming! The location was perfect for morning walks to get coffee. This is the first rental we have stayed at that had more than enough toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags. The kitchen was very well stocked if you’ll be cooking. The house was clean with plenty of towels. The beds were comfortable. The only negative was the upstairs bedroom with two beds was very warm. We had our daughter sleep on the pullout couch due to the temperature. She said it was pretty comfy. We would definitely stay at the guest house again! A perfect downtown home!
We had the pleasure of staying ten years ago at Olive Gate so when we were looking to come back to Paso we checked to see if Olive Gate was still available and it was! We were just as pleased with our stay this time as we were so many years ago. It is the most charming home situatied perfectly near downtown. It is an easy walk to so many great restaurants and shops. The backyard is a DREAM!! We spent as much time as we could enjoying the beautiful grounds they they have so well manicured. This property is exactly as advertised. Very clean and stocked. A great space with a full kitchen. There are some spices, salt & pepper, oil probably left behind for previous renters. There is nothing in the fridge and there is no coffee. This didn’t bother us however good for other renters to know.

This house was the perfect size for 6 adults for a weekend in Paso. It's in a great location as you can easily walk to the downtown square. The backyard is awesome with plenty of seating areas. The home was clean and had everything we needed.

Perfect little cottage
Perfect home base for our first trip to Paso Robles. Unbeatable location, just 2 blocks from downtown Paso, and easy access to the wineries (10 min) and coast (30 min) along Route 46. The house is well-maintained, immaculate, and supplied with plenty of towels and linens. We loved the attention to decor and whimsical art. Excellent quality everything: beds were VERY comfortable, kitchen utensils and pots/pans were definitely better than average quality. The backyard was spacious and we could imagine spending a lot of time there in warmer weather.
The upstairs stairway is somewhat steep but wasn't a problem for any of us.
We didn't realize that there is no laundry machine; it was not mentioned in the book of house info. For this price, I would've expected laundry machines. Also, would've appreciated clearer info on what to do with recycling/trash/compost.
We had to download the "Hospitality" app on our phones to check-in and check-out, and to send messages to the manager. I had sent a message and questions upon check-in (it was a Saturday), but did not get a reply. Would've been good to get an acknowledgement of that message.

College Reunion
Amazing weekend with five college friends celebrating over 20 years of friendship. We laughed, we cried, and felt right at home.
This was the perfect place for our weekend of dinner at Fish Gaucho, wine tasting at Pelletiere, Tooth and Nail, and Tablas Creek, as well as our end of day mineral hot springs adventure.
The house was very clean and spacious for it's cottage size. Others mentioned the older windows as an issue and I would agree that this is something that should be addressed at some point.

We had a wonderful weekend in Paso and loved the Olive Gate Guest House. The location is great. Just a short walk to the mail square and all of the restaurants and shops downtown. We were there during covid and the place was very clean and well set up. It was very easy to order food and walk over to the square and pick up food to enjoy back at the house.

Great Family Retreat Near Downtown Paso
This house was perfect for our family of 8, including a toddler and 2 dogs. The house is vintage, but updated, with a beautiful well-fenced private yard. It's an easy walk to the downtown park, restaurants, shops, and bars. The house was clean, comfortable, and well appointed, and the backyard was perfect for mornings and evenings. We especially enjoyed the Thomas Hill Organics Restaurant and the Il Cortile Restaurant - delicious food and beautifully presented. The house was very nice and centrally located. We walked everywhere in the downtown area. For a week long stay it would have been very nice to have laundry facilities. I failed to notice the absence of that when booking so it was my fault. The Olive Gate was a wonderful home, beautiful backyard and a quick walk into town. We just loved our stay in early April. The sun was shining and perfectly warm to enjoy the backyard setting in the morning and in the afternoon after a day of wine tasting. The lovely fountain was calm and relaxing. We enjoyed the large front porch as well. We moved into a wonderfully clean and well stock house and easily made it our temporary home. We would recommend Olive Gate for a long weekend, an entire week for families as well as a few friends and a romantic getaway. Perfect house for the long weekend. So nice to be able to stroll into town for dinner and not have to worry about driving or parking. My husband and I took my parents here for a long weekend in August and enjoyed our stay! The house is nicely decorated with a fully stocked kitchen. Each night we enjoyed sampling our wine purchases in the backyard with home cooked meals. It was a relaxing vacation and also a bonus that we could bring the dog. Perfect couples' trip to Paso
Three couples shared this house for a fun weekend trip from LA. It was a great location, just a couple blocks to downtown Paso Robles. The house was comfortable, quaint, and well appointed. This is a perfect house for several couples, assuming one couple doesn't mind sharing twin beds. The bedrooms are all spread out and the house is very quiet, so if folks get up at different times no one is disturbed.

Long Weekend Getaway
The Olive Gate property is everything that you see in the photographs and more. One of the most complete rental kitchens I have encountered. The rear yard is huge, giving you a lot of options if you just want some R&R.

I stayed 3 nights at Olive Gate with 4 other women. We felt welcome the minute that we drove up to this adorable Craftsman style home. However, when we walked in the door, it was clear that we would have a difficult time leaving. The owners have done a great job making this the most comfortable home. Nothing was missing. Plenty of blankets, towels, kitchen supplies, and ambiance. The backyard was to die for. The location was incredible. A few minutes to walk to everything down town. And, a easy drive to the wineries.
