San Luis Obispo County, California, February 17, 2026 – Film SLO CAL, the official film commission for San Luis Obispo County (SLO CAL), and a department of Visit SLO CAL, is highlighting a slate of noteworthy productions filmed throughout the region in 2025. Recent projects span digital, television and commercial productions, further reinforcing SLO CAL’s reputation as a premier and versatile filming destination in California.

 

 

In 2025, SLO CAL recorded 44 different productions spanning 73 filming days. Filmmakers praised not only the region’s scenic versatility, but also the ease of filming and the people who make SLO CAL special. Location scouts and producers consistently noted the welcoming, accommodating community throughout the county.

 

 

“Our role is instrumental in promoting the region for filming and helping productions navigate permitting, locations and logistics,” said Matt Halvorson, Film Commissioner at Film SLO CAL. “Filmmakers are drawn to SLO CAL for its distinctive backdrops and the support they receive from our partners and the community along the way. By working closely with a variety of permitting and destination partners across the county, and drawing on our deep local knowledge, we are proud to help bring these creative projects to life.”

 

 

Noteworthy Productions Filmed in SLO CAL in 2025 Include:

 

 

Audi Q5 Series Car Commercial (March 13-15, 2025)

A cinematic automotive shoot showcasing SLO CAL’s scenic roads and landscapes. Filming took place in the City of San Luis Obispo (Garden Street and Hotel San Luis Obispo) and along Highway 1, including Morro Bay, San Simeon and Ragged Point.

 

 

Bravo’s Reality TV Series, Vanderpump Rules (Season 12, May 14-17, 2025)

The cast’s road trip highlighted Paso Robles Wine Country (Rava Wines, Tobin James, DAOU Vineyards) and the City of San Luis Obispo (Madonna Inn, Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market, Luna Red, Black Sheep) in its latest two episodes, with SLO CAL serving as the backdrop for nationwide reality television moments.

 

 

Toyota x Univision “Made to Conquer” Digital Campaign (October 7-10, 2025)

The campaign utilized SLO CAL’s striking landscapes to bring the brand’s adventurous story to life. Vacationland Films brought the production to the Oceano Dunes SVRA, California’s only drivable state beach and a key filming location in the county.

 

 

MrBeast x Jetson ONE YouTube Video (December 16-17, 2025)

The world’s most subscribed YouTube creator filmed a fast-moving digital production across Chapman Estate, Dinosaur Caves Park, Pismo Pier and Fin’s Restaurant parking lot in Grover Beach.
