Catch a glimpse of the creative spirit at one of SLO CAL’s many art galleries and museums.
 
In Morro Bay, pop into a co-op gallery featuring paintings, jewelry, sculpture and more by artists living and working on the Central Coast. Or take home a piece of SLO CAL with a purchase of a local artist’s painting or photograph.
 
After visiting San Luis Obispo’s Mission de Tolosa, discover art by SLO CAL artists, from fine art prints and ceramics to glass and more, at a nearby gallery. A quick walk takes you to an art museum where three public galleries showcase fine arts and crafts by Californian and American artists. The gift shop also highlights works from regional artists. For a truly unique attraction, check out San Luis Obispo’s Bubblegum Alley, and leave your own mark on the ever-changing display.
 
Art enthusiasts will want to cruise north to San Simeon for a visit to Hearst Castle. Built by art collector and famed newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst, the castle is one of America’s best-known art museums and features primarily European art. Visitors will see many of these paintings, tapestries, sculptures and more during the standard tours, and a special Art of San Simeon tour educates guests on how Hearst acquired these stunning works of art.
