Day 1

Arrive at San Luis Obispo Regional Airport for two fun filled days of exploration with an array of unforgettable experiences – all within close proximity.

Morro Bay Oyster Company – Morro Bay

Back to Top of List

35° 22' 17.7" N | 120° 51' 30.0" W

First stop is the fishing town of Morro Bay where the Morro Bay Oyster Company farms oyster in the rich volcanic waters of the bay to grow Pacific Gold Oysters. Their dock location is a great place to learn about the oysters in their growing tanks.

If you want to see the farm for yourself, rent a kayak and head out on the bay towards Los Osos. Be sure to wave hello to the sea otters on the way and give all plants and animals space, as this is a natural estuary preserve.

Once back on land, head to a local restaurant where you can taste the local mollusks or schedule a dockside pickup of your Pacific Golds in advance. From the bay to your mouth, doesn’t get fresher than that!

Drive Time: 13 minutes, 7 miles

Maven Leather – Cayucos

Back to Top of List
Women shopping in colorful store

35° 26' 57.8" N | 120° 54' 17.0" W

Explore a SLO CAL Crafted storefronts by visiting the Maven Leather showroom, where the artist Emma makes one-of-a-kind leather goods in the studio upstairs. Here you’ll find unused leather surplus hides, minimally processed and finished with botanical dyes, turned into beautiful works of art perfect for every occasion.

By visiting the storefront you’ll discover what pieces are available – from backpacks, to wallets, plant swings, belts and more – and likely meet the maker herself. Finding a bag that you love is the perfect way to take a piece of SLO CAL with you wherever you go.

Drive Time: 48 minutes, 34 miles

CASS Winery – Paso Robles

Back to Top of List

35° 35' 52.4" N | 120° 33' 54.1" W

You might find yourself in wine country for this stop, but you’ll find more than wine tasting here! Book a beekeeping workshop at CASS Winery and receive a tour of their on-site hives (don’t worry they’ll get you suited up for the full experience). You’ll finish with a tasting of the CASS honey accompanied by wine if you so choose.

If beekeeping doesn’t interest your group, you’ll also find cooking classes, archery courses, horseback riding, olive oil tasting, bike tours and more! Any of these experiences can be perfectly paired with a charcuterie board featuring CASS honey.

Day 2

Ancient Owl – Atascadero

Back to Top of List

35° 29' 20.8" N | 120° 40' 12.2" W

Ancient Owl Beer Garden and Bottle Shoppe periodically plays host to Saunter Yoga Studio who holds Beer Yoga in the courtyard. For these classes, Ancient Owl opens privately one hour early, and participants get to enjoy a relaxing yoga experience with a delicious craft beer, seltzer or kombucha.

Hard to imagine how beer and yoga go together? It’s traditional poses with a glass in hand – sips while brining your hands to heart center. And if you aren’t able to catch a Beer Yoga class during your visit, a yoga practice followed by a crisp craft brew is nearly as good!

Drive Time: 30 minutes, 30 miles

Monarch Butterfly Grove – Pismo Beach

Back to Top of List

35° 07' 46.4" N | 120° 37' 56.9" W

Hundreds to thousands of monarch butterflies visit Pismo Beach annually. On average, the Monarch Butterfly Grove sees 25,000 fluttering and resting between October and February. Even if the butterflies aren’t migrating during your visit, this spot is still worth a stop. You can learn more about the monarch and enjoy the walking path that leads through the eucalyptus grove, over the sand dunes and to the ocean.

Drive Time: 5 minutes, 2 miles

Back to Top of List
