Welcome to Avila Beach Whale Watching and Coastal Explorer tours. Whale watching tours are offered aboard the amazing new powerboat the "PACIFIC FLYER" a 26 ft power catamaran offering a unique opportunity to experience whale watching as it should be, with a small number of people aboard a mid-sized boat so everyone has enough space at the rail for an unobstructed, front row position when the boat stops to observe the whales. Only 6 passengers are taken out at a time to ensure this is a quality experience for all guests. Everyone aboard will appreciate the fantastic ride that these boats are famous for, as they slice through the waves, giving one the feeling of flying over the water. This means the boats travel fast, with great comfort and offer more quality time with the whales! Catamarans are also exceptionally stable, making this a photographers dream charter boat. The captains are USCG licensed masters and excellent naturalists that have been leading outdoor educational adventures throughout the world for over 30 years. If interested in learning about the whales and the marine environment, then you are sure to enjoy the many fascinating insights about their lives and migrations that the captains will share during the journey. The boat, a Glacier Bay 2665 catamaran is extremely seaworthy and unsinkable, along with having quite running Honda twin motors for extra safety and redundancy. These boats have a legendary reputation for great handling in offshore conditions and have very comfortable seating to make the "Pacific Flyer" one of the best whale watching platforms on the west coast. Fun and exciting Coastal Explorer tours are also offered. These are family oriented boat tours aboard the wonderful powerboat the "PACIFIC FLYER" which is used to seek out all of the animals that call the pristine waters from Pismo Beach to Avila Beach home. This exciting boat tour is a fast and fun way to explore the coast! The boat is large enough to be comfortable in the ocean and allows everyone enough room to move about and get a front row seat as we encounter Sea Otters, Sea lions, Harbor Seals and more. Yet she is small enough to get up close to the rock formations and kelp beds. See all the sights on this one hour tour from the Sea lion colony on the breakwater to the historic Port San Luis Lighthouse. The captains are excellent naturalists and delight in sharing insights with you and your family about the life cycles of all the wonderful animals that are encountered on this voyage of exploration.
