It's harvest time all year long in SLO CAL (San Luis Obispo County). Explore farm tours and experiences where visitors can learn about the local agriculture, as farmers and ranchers share what they grow, know and make.
The farm trail is comprised of a variety of farms from San Miguel to Arroyo Grande growing plants and animals, as well as, makers crafting olive oil, wine and more using local ingredients. The SLO County Farm Trail locations welcome visitors year-round, but it’s always recommended that you confirm hours before visiting as these working farms may adjust hours seasonally. Open Farm Days: June 20 – 22, 2025
For a weekend packed with agricultural experiences, attend their annual Open Farm Days. Enjoy a weekend full of farm tours, demonstrations, tastings, u-pick and more! Come see why there’s nothing quite like spending the day on the farm. And don’t forget the add ons such as culinary experiences and workshops throughout the weekend.

📍 560 Avila Beach Dr, Avila Beach
Open year-round, seasonal availability of u-pick
Feed the barnyard animals, take a tractor ride and u-pick whatever deliciousness is in season. Avila Valley Barn is a family favorite. Stop in the farm stand shop for fresh produce (and pie) and don’t forget your camera for farm photo-ops. Only in SLO CAL can you experience rustic farm life minutes from the beach.

Home to alpacas, sheep and dairy goats, this livestock farm is enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with visitors. Learn cheese making, make your own goat-milk soap or have a hands-on experience with their animals. Visitors can book tours and workshops through their website, where their socks and soaps are also available for purchase.

Lavender boom is seasonal May - September
This family lavender farm invites visitors to come out and immerse themselves in the world of lavender. Take a guided walk through the lavender fields and learn about the growing, harvesting and drying processes. Then select your own lavender bouquet and swing by the farm store to pick up lavender gifts and souvenirs.

Hartley Farms is a 100% organic farm that specializes in growing and hand-crafting jams. Located along the wine trail and only 15 minutes from Paso Robles, their gourmet jams pair perfectly with a glass of local wine. Book your own walk through the garden followed by a Jam Session.

Closed during winter, reopens Memorial Day Weekend
Farming in SLO CAL for over 100 years, this family farm is the oldest pumpkin farm in the region. Known for apple cider slushes, u-pick olallieberries, giant sweet onions and guided tastings of honey, olive oil, balsamic vinegars and maple syrups, there’s something for everyone. For the kids, there’s even old-fashioned farm play area Happy Acres that the littles won’t want to miss.

Home to several different olive tree varietals, Kiler Ridge hand harvests and cold presses olives within hours of picking leading to fresh and healthy extra virgin olive oil. Book an educational tasting on the farm. The tasting pairs perfectly with their 'olives to oil tour' or 'milling & production tour' for the ultimate olive oil experience.

A true guest ranch, take your pick of nature hikes, exotic animal exhibits or a ranch safari. Camatta Ranch is a cattle ranch, but so much more, as it invites guests to experience Lazy Arrow Adventures. Book a safari tour to learn about the land and the family that manage it. They also offer periodic and assorted workshops. Everything is bookable on their website.

The mushroom farm experience at Mighty Cap Mushrooms explains the farm's story and the full growth process of a mushroom. A tour includes a trip to the farm, a look into the incubation and grow rooms of the production facility at Tin City, as well as sustainable practices. Reservations are required.
